Picture and sound

Just as the majority of men, I am partial to equipment. I have several gadgets and devices that contribute greatly to my lifestyle. For instance, my MacBook Pro, using which I am typing these lines. Or my iPhone (yes, I also bought into that new-fashion gadget and have no regrets about that). My motorbike or my car - it all has become my usual habitat. I can use it, and the equipment helps me in my work and brings a lot of pleasure. However, I have met numerous other people. They are contaminated with a panicky fear of technologies. Don't you know those who, before compiling a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, re-calculate everything once again by hand on a sheet of paper? Are there among people you know, those who drive a car, but every time ask someone else to help them park their car in the garage? And how many of your friends read aloud contact details from their mobile phones so that you could put them down just because they don't know how to send texts?

May be those are just extreme cases. But let's consider other facts. Almost everyone of us has a video camera. And we film 10 to 20 hours of video a year. But how often and how many times do we watch it? Almost nothing and never. That is because we could master only one side of this technological wonder. We only record our life in digital format. While the other part of the process - editing raw video into bright and emotional short movies - was grasped only by very few of us.

It all happens in our private life. No one there, except perhaps our family members, is entitled to demand that we change our attitude to equipment. Quite another matter is our job. Here we simply have to master all that inventory of the media of expression given to us by modern technologies. It is very unlikely anyone can seriously expect a success in event management using only standard technical means. Technology companies are ready to fulfill almost every our crazy creative idea, but we aren't likely to have it unless we follow closely not only the latest products in show technologies, but also new ways of using them by the best in our trade.

P. S. The bike on the picture is not mine. We rented this Harley when we were in the States. It is also in its own way an example of how to use equipment matching the style and the desired outcome of the event.
